It’s back! I have decided for 2017 that it’s time to re-launch my travel photo linky known as #CheckOutThatView (details on how to join in are at the bottom of this post).
These photographs were taken on a family walk at Cannop Ponds in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire. It was a cold wintery day and most of the manmade ponds were frozen. A thick fog had descended on the forest and everything looked cold and white. Ducks were spotted swimming in the pond and ice skating along the top of the ice. My children thoroughly enjoyed splashing in puddles and getting their wellington boots muddy as we took a stroll down the main footpath.
Cannop Ponds is cared for by the Forestry Commission and features popular fishing lakes, picnic benches and a variety of cycle and walking routes. Mobile catering is often found there at weekends for hungry and thirsty families to buy refreshments.
We enjoyed spending time feeding the ducks and by time we left the first pond, there were about ten times the number of ducks that had been there when we arrived. They all seemed very appreciative! We spent some time taking family photographs and took a gentle stroll along the main footpath. The footpaths are well signposted and different walking routes are shown with markers and distances. It’s definitely somewhere we will return for future family walks as it was so picturesque and really brought us back to nature.

Bloggers who’d like to join in with #CheckOutThatView
This is the weekly post where I share a photo of somewhere pretty, whether it’s a dramatic skyline, rolling hills, an ocean sunset or a quirky little town. Any type of scenery or view, which I’d like to share. Other bloggers are welcome to come and link up their own posts.
Posts which are joined to other linkies or part of a travel review or other post are welcome, as long as it contains a photo of a nice view. The badge to add to your posts or sidebar can be found below. Please make sure you comment on at least 2 other bloggers posts – this is what makes the linky work. If you tweet your post with the hashtag or with my username (@crazywithtwins) I will always ReTweet it for you. Happy family days spent out in nature are the best. Gorgeous photos, love the slight mist to them too, so pretty and the kids looklike they are having the best fun.
