Blackpool Sands, is a lovely little beach in South Devon, not far from Dartmouth. It’s reportedly 1.5 miles from the Camping and Caravanning Club’s Dartmouth site, however, it seemed like much further in the car and we couldn’t find the coast path. I didn’t want to walk the children via the roadway, as there were no pavements for a big chunk of the journey and I felt the roads were just too dangerous. However, if you are planning to go, it’s probably worth Googling the coast path, as you may well have more luck finding it than we did.
The beach itself was very clean and I’ve been told you can buy a fantastic breakfast there. We just stopped very briefly, took a couple of snaps on my mobile phone and headed back to our campsite, with every intention of returning. We simply ran out of time, as we were trying to cram so much into one weekend.
I thought this photo wasn’t bad though, for a quick snap just before dusk.
#CheckOutThatView of Blackpool Sands in Devon…
Thank you once again to everyone who linked up last week. I love looking at all your stunning scenic photos.
My favourite photo from last week, was Itchen Abbas Poppies by Youngonesfive because I loved the depth of field, the colours and the distance captured. It was a really beautiful photo.
I’m a little late to the party this week, due to being in London again (we went to Shrek’s Adventure – review coming soon), but here’s this week’s #CheckOutThatView linky.
Don’t forget to add the badge or link back here so other people can find us, and please do comment on at least two other linkers.

Beautiful sandy beach and so quiet!
Looks beautiful Emma. Devon isn’t a place we’ve visited for a long time but we’re off down that way this summer as we backpack along the Jurassic Coast. We’re heading from Topsham over to Lyme Regis though so going in the wrong direction for Blackpool Sands 🙁
Oh that beach looks inviting, Devon seems such a beautiful place to visit
Gorgeous beach shot, love Devon, have to put that beach on my list!
Fabulous photo. We used to walk down the windy road from the village to Blackpool Sands when I as a kid with all the beach gear!! There was a natural swimming pool in one corner of the beach that filled up with the tide. It was great in the pool as not only was there was quite a steep drop in the sea, making it dififcult for children, it was freezing. Not sure if the natural pool is still there. And, yes last time I had breakfast there, it was good. Love that part of the country! Great to discover your post, Emma.
