We’re on holiday!

Whilst you are reading this, we are on holiday at the fun-packed resort of Royal Son Bou on the Southern coast of Menorca! This holiday was planned only a few weeks ago and in the lead up to our flight, our excitement levels went through the roof because we kept watching the video on the Royal Son Bou website, of all the things the resort has to offer.

It’s very much a family-orientated resort, with children at the forefront of it’s ethos and a tagline of “The Children’s Paradise”. There are a variety of kids activities and kids clubs, split into age ranges, to engage all the children in fun activities, whilst the parents relax. All the staff are well trained and experienced in childcare and most speak at least four different languages. There’s also an adult entertainment programme, including things like pistol shooting, volleyball and football. The evening entertainment consist of a children’s disco and a family friendly show. Unlike most resorts, where you have to keep running back to reception to check the entertainment guides, Royal Son Bou has it’s own app! Using the app, you can check the entertainment guides or the weather, right from your mobile phone, whether you are still in your home country waiting to go on holiday, or sitting on a sun lounger in Menorca.

Royal Son Bou has two swimming pools with plenty of sun loungers around the outside. The large family pool has a beach-style shallow end which gradually gets deeper, so there are swimming depths for all ages. The children’s pool is shallow all over and has two fun slides. Both pools have plenty of sun loungers around the outside and towels are provided by the hotel and changeable twice a week.

Royal Son Bou is available as half board or all-inclusive. We are currently enjoying the all-inclusive option, with extensive buffet meals at breakfast, lunch and dinner, snacks available all day and both soft and local alcoholic drinks.

Just a 20-minute drive away from Mahon airport and a 1 minute walk away from Son Bou beach, means we are in a great location on the Island. I will be writing a full review of Royal Son Bou on my return, but what I will say now is…

This resort is way beyond all our expectations and we are having a wonderful time here!
