Bristol Harbourside #CheckOutThatView

You may have seen my recent post about an art sculpture trail called The Scrumpty Trail. Having completed that trail, we’ve started on the Bristol part of the Shaun in the City Trail, after doing the London trail back in February. We love doing art trails, because it’s a great way to get some fresh air and exercise, see more of a city than you ordinarily would and the children love finding the sculptures and posing with them for photos.

Cities are often thought of as built, up, polluted and full of big ugly buildings, yet we you take on an art trail, you often find that actually, cities have lots of pretty places too. In both London and Bristol, we found many parks, gardens, flowers, water features and statues. London also has the stunning Serpentine lake in Hyde park and lots of secret gardens. Bristol has the habourside, the ancient abbey ruins and a great deal of history too. Gloucester also has it’s historic docks, canal path and nature reserve.

The point is, that even the most built-up inner cities can surprise you. I’m currently putting together a video full of photos, from my highlights of London.

For this week’s #CheckOutThatView photo, I am sharing this photo I took of Bristol Harbourside, whilst undertaking the Shaun in the City trail. I love the boats and the river in the foreground and the brightly coloured houses in the background. Look at all that colour!

My favourite post from the last #CheckOutThatView link ups was a photo of Amsterdam by Mum of Three World. I’ve never been to Amsterdam, it’s on my travel destination wishlist and this photo encompasses the vision I have always had, of what Amsterdam must be like.

If you’d like to join in with this week’s #CheckOutThatView, then grab my badge and link up your epic view photos here (Don’t forget to comment on at least two others):
