Boulogne Sur Mer in France #CheckOutThatView

It’s been far too long since I’ve been near the sea (I LOVE to be near the sea) and I wanted to capture a photo, but the sun was setting fast and my camera battery had just died. I was in Boulogne Sur Mer in France, just standing there taking in the fresh air and admiring the beach, whilst my children were on the sand playing. We’d had a very long morning travelling, followed by a busy (but fantastic) afternoon at Nausicaa, exploring all the creatures you can find under the sea. We were about to head off to the beautiful French village of Hardelot to find our hotel, but despite the setting sun, the air beginning to cool and dusk appearing, we were in no hurry. It was pretty here and we wanted to enjoy it just a little bit longer. I managed to fiddle with my camera battery long enough to get it to take one photo of the beach and this was it.

We went on have a wonderful time in France, despite only being there for two days. We stayed in a spectacular suite in a luxurious hotel in Hardelot, we ate scrumptious pancakes in a local creperie and indulged in delicious ice cream from a nearby parlour. We spent the following morning building sandcastles and collecting shells on Hardelot beach, before making our journey home.

I am a firm believer that being near the sea is good for the soul and the going on a long journey to somewhere new and beautiful can invigorate you. Our little trip was worth every moment of travelling. We enjoyed every second and came home completely refreshed. Reviews of all the places we visited will appear on this blog soon.
